Dining Chair Cleaning
$30 to $55 each
Fabric seats absorb cooking oils that oxidize over time. Priced and cleaned per chair.
New York City Furniture Cleaning
The sofa gets cleaned and everything else in the room stays as it was. Our furniture cleaning NYC service covers dining chairs, ottomans, headboards, recliners and home office chairs, which take the same body oils, food residue and city dust a sofa does. Care code read on every piece, then extraction or dry solvent depending on what it allows. All five boroughs, no travel surcharge.
In Action
Dining chairs, ottomans, headboards, recliners, home office chairs. All daily contact. A Fort Greene dining chair gets pulled out three times a day. A Long Island City desk chair holds someone for eight hours. Body oils and food residue go into the fabric fast.
An open window on Atlantic Avenue or the Grand Central Parkway brings in exhaust and brake dust. It lands on whatever sits nearest the window, which is usually an ottoman or a bench. According to Olympian Water Testing, NYC tap water carries 50 to 100 mg per liter of dissolved minerals. Spraying it on a stained ottoman leaves those minerals behind as a white ring.
Steam heat runs through pre war Manhattan and Brooklyn. Mammoth New York's guide notes older radiators need extra attention. Dry heat makes headboard and recliner fibers brittle, so soil that would brush off gets locked in.
Dust mite allergens, skin cells, pet dander, cooking oil, water soluble stains. The IICRC S300 standard calls extraction removing contaminants from the fiber rather than masking them.
A rental machine on an S coded velvet chair shrinks it. Overwetting an ottoman pushes soil into the foam. Hard tap water dries into a chalky ring around whatever you were trying to remove.
What We Clean
Professional furniture cleaning NYC rates below are starting ranges, confirmed after we see the fabric and soil level.
These rates cover fabric pieces. Leather and hide are cleaned and conditioned by hand instead of extracted, and are quoted on the leather and hide pieces page. Whole house bookings outside the city are covered on Long Island.
$30 to $55 each
Fabric seats absorb cooking oils that oxidize over time. Priced and cleaned per chair.
$60 to $80
Ottomans double as coffee tables and footrests, so the top surface takes on soil fast.
$35 to $60
Task chairs used all day build up body oils on the seat and headrest.
$80 to $150
Body oils and overnight humidity press against headboard fabric for hours every night.
$55 to $85
Entryway and foot of bed benches take heavy contact from bags, shoes, and coats.
$75 to $110
Often vintage finds from a Brooklyn flea market, so we check the fabric code first.
$75 to $120
The most commonly skipped piece in a living room, despite daily use.
$90 to $140
More surface area than a standard chair. Arm zones and the headrest show soil first.
Upholstery Care Codes Explained
Every piece of upholstered piece carries a tag with a one or two letter code. The IICRC S300 standard matches each letter to a method, and the wrong one does permanent damage.
| Code | What it means | Method we use | Common on |
|---|---|---|---|
| W | Water based cleaning safe. | Hot water extraction | Dining chairs, benches, home office chairs |
| S | Solvent only. Water causes shrinkage or watermarks. | Dry solvent cleaning | Velvet headboards, silk or wool accent chairs |
| WS | Both methods are safe. We choose based on the stain. | Extraction or dry solvent | Microfiber recliners, mid range chairs and ottomans |
| X | Vacuum only. No liquid should contact this fabric. | Vacuum and soft brush | Antique chairs, delicate vintage upholstery |
Flip a dining chair or ottoman over for a stapled tag. On a headboard, check the back panel. If it is missing, we identify the fabric type and test a hidden area first.
Before & After
Home office chairs in small Murray Hill and Hell's Kitchen apartments. In East Harlem and Upper West Side pre war co-ops, dining and accent chairs never cleaned before.
Fort Greene brownstone dining sets see daily meals. Carroll Gardens and Park Slope entryway benches track in stoop grit.
In a Sunnyside co-op, an entryway bench takes daily bag and shoe contact. Long Island City has many rental buildings where home office chairs stay in constant use.
