Professional Couch Cleaning NYC — Odors, Allergens & Pet Hair
Your couch sees all of it. Coffee on the arm, the dog on the cushions, four years of city dust that arrived through an open window. We clean sofas, sectionals, chairs and everything upholstered, in your apartment, across all five boroughs. The care tag gets read before anything touches the fabric, and the price is agreed before we start. Call for a same-day appointment.

How It Works
The Same Thorough Process Every Visit
No shortcuts — whether it's a loveseat or a large sectional.
01
Call to Book Your Appointment
We confirm availability, neighborhood, and fabric type over the phone. Same-day slots available when you call before noon.
02
Technician Arrival & Apartment Setup
We arrive inside the window you were given. Drop cloths down first, equipment staged where it is not in your way, which matters more in a studio than in a walk-ups.
03
Upholstery Fabric Code Inspection
We find the care tag, W, S, WS or X, and test somewhere nobody looks. Get this wrong and the fabric watermarks or shrinks, and neither comes back.
04
Targeted Stain & Spot Pre-Treatment
Stains, worn armrests and pet spots each get a different solution, matched to the fabric and to what actually made the mark.
05
Hot Water Extraction or Dry Cleaning
W-code fabrics get hot water extraction. S-code fabrics get solvent dry cleaning. WS-code fabrics get the method best suited to the current soiling level.
06
Odor Neutralizing & Deodorizing Step
Pet odour, smoke and mustiness get neutralised in the fibre rather than covered over. It is a step on every job, not an upsell.
07
Final Inspection & Drying Guidance
Cushions go on edge so both faces dry, and we tell you how long it will take. Two to four hours after extraction with a window open or a fan running.
Five reasons clients in New York City book us — and book again.
IICRC-Certified Cleaning
Our technicians hold IICRC certification in upholstery and fabric care, which takes documented training and a written exam.
Fabric Code Verified First
Nothing goes on the fabric until the tag has been read. A W takes water, an S takes solvent only, and using the wrong one shrinks or marks the piece for good.
NYC Building Expertise
Pre war walk ups, high rise condos, co-op buildings. We carry general liability cover and issue a certificate of insurance for building management.
Transparent Pricing
The price is agreed after we look at the piece and before anything is switched on. No hourly billing and nothing added at the end. If it turns out bigger than it sounded on the phone, we tell you before touching anything.
All 5 Boroughs, No Surcharge

When to Book
NYC Seasonal Couch Cleaning Guide
Your sofa takes a different kind of punishment each season. Radiator dust in winter, humidity in August, pollen in spring. Here is when New Yorkers book, and why. Our guide to how often a sofa needs cleaning sets out the intervals, and cleaning a fabric couch at home covers what to do between visits.
Spring
A season of closed windows and radiator dust comes out. This is the busiest booking window of the year, so book early.
Summer
Lease turnover and post renovation work. Also the month people remember the sofa before guests arrive.
Fall
Everything gets booked before Thanksgiving. October and November fill up first, so the window is narrower than people expect.
Winter
Wine, food and whatever happened on New Year. January and February are the easiest months to get the slot you want.
Our Lead Technician
About Marcus Reid — Lead Technician
Marcus Reid runs the technical side. He has worked in fabric care in this city for over a decade and holds IICRC certification in upholstery cleaning.
He either does the job or briefs whoever does. Velvet, boucle or antique linen, and he will talk through the appropriate method with you before scheduling.
Often, for the neighborhoods closest to our East Harlem base, and more reliably midweek than at a weekend. Call rather than use the form if you need today, because the answer depends on what is already booked and we will tell you straight away.
Standard 3-seat fabric sofa: $120–$180. Large sectional: $180–$380. Chair or ottoman: $60–$120 per piece. Final price confirmed after fabric inspection, before work starts. No surprise charges.
Yes. Call before noon at (332) 242-5389. Same-day appointments are subject to technician availability in your borough.
The IICRC (Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certification) is the standard-setting organization for the cleaning industry. IICRC certification in upholstery cleaning requires documented training and passing a written exam — it's an earned credential, not a self-designation.
W = water-based cleaning safe. S = solvent (dry) cleaning only — no water. WS = either method works. X = vacuum only — no liquid cleaners. Using the wrong method can watermark, shrink, or permanently discolor your fabric. We read the care tag before starting any work.
Hot water extraction on standard fabric: 2–4 hours with windows open or fans running. Dry cleaning (S-code): fabric is nearly dry immediately, usually under 30 minutes. Dense fabrics like velvet may take up to 6 hours in a closed NYC apartment.
Yes. Velvet and boucle typically require dry cleaning (S-code). Linen varies by manufacturer. We inspect the care tag and test a hidden area before cleaning any specialty fabric — we don't guess.
Yes. Enzyme-based pet odor treatment ($40 add-on) breaks down uric acid at the source rather than masking the smell. For deeply saturated cushion foam, we'll advise on whether the foam itself needs replacement before the odor can be fully resolved.
Yes. We carry general liability insurance and can provide a certificate of insurance (COI) for building management upon request. We handle elevator scheduling, doorman buildings, and narrow-hallway logistics across all five boroughs.
Yes. L-shaped and U-shaped sectionals from $180. Final pricing is based on the number of sections and fabric type — we confirm the configuration with you before quoting to avoid surprises.
Most NYC households benefit from professional cleaning every 12–18 months. Homes with pets or allergy sufferers are better served by cleaning every 6–12 months. NYC apartments accumulate dust and allergens faster than suburban homes due to open windows and street foot traffic.
We clean bonded leather and faux leather. For genuine aniline or semi-aniline leather, we recommend a leather specialist — these materials require conditioning treatments that go beyond standard upholstery cleaning.
All 5 NYC boroughs: Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, The Bronx, and Staten Island. No travel surcharge within the five boroughs. We serve neighborhoods from Howard Beach to Washington Heights to Tottenville.
For one small spot a rental is fine. For a whole sofa it usually costs you twice. Rental machines run on NYC tap water, which carries 50 to 100 mg per liter of dissolved minerals that dry as white rings, and they leave detergent in the fiber that pulls soil back faster than clean fabric does.
No to either. The same sofa costs the same in Tribeca, Flushing and Great Kills, and carrying equipment up four flights is part of working in this city. Tell us the floor number when you book so we bring the right setup, not so we can price it.
Four things. Do you check the fabric care code before choosing a method. Is the quote firm or does it change on the day. Do you extract, or only shampoo. Can you provide a certificate of insurance if my building asks. Hesitation on the first one tells you most of what you need.
