Couch Cleaning Bay Ridge: Whole House Visits

Semi detached houses, a front room kept for guests and a back den that takes everything. We do the whole house in one visit, with the van in your own driveway.

Sofas and Sectionals

Professional Sofa Cleaning in Bay Ridge

Bay Ridge houses usually run two living rooms. A formal front room with a sofa nobody is allowed to eat on, and a back den or finished basement where the real sectional lives and takes every meal, every game and every dog.

They need different work. The front room piece is mostly dust and sun. The den sectional is body oil, food and pet hair pressed into the weave. The professional sofa cleaning sequence handles both, but not with the same pretreatment.

Carpet and Rugs

Wall to Wall Carpet Cleaning in Bay Ridge

Houses here keep wall to wall carpet where apartments do not. Bedrooms, the staircase to the second floor, and very often the whole basement floor.

Basement carpet sits below grade and holds moisture in the pad, which is where the smell lives rather than in the pile. See how we clean carpet and rugs.

Bedrooms

Mattress Cleaning in Bay Ridge

Three or four bedrooms in a house means three or four mattresses, and in a family house at least one of them belongs to a child who has had a bad night at some point.

All of them in one visit costs a fraction of booking them separately. See what mattress cleaning involves.

Pets

Pet Urine and Odor Removal in Bay Ridge

A house with a yard means a dog with a door, and the accidents that matter are the old ones in the basement nobody found at the time.

Uric acid crystals are not water soluble, so rinsing moves the smell rather than ending it. Enzyme goes into the foam or the pad. The odor at the source page explains why.

Pricing

Couch Cleaning Bay Ridge: What It Costs

Bay Ridge is priced like the rest of Brooklyn. There is no charge for the distance, and a house is easier for us than a fourth floor walk up, not harder.

Most bookings here are whole house rather than one piece, so the visit is quoted as one number. Two sofas, a basement carpet and three mattresses in a morning works out well below the sum of four appointments.

Starting prices

Standard 3-seat sofa $120 to $180
Loveseat or 2-seat $95 to $140
Sectional, L shape $180 to $280
Whole apartment, 3+ pieces Quoted per visit

Same prices across Brooklyn. Whole house visits are quoted as one figure, agreed before we start.

What a Bay Ridge House Job Involves

Couch cleaning Bay Ridge work is the one part of our week where parking is not the problem. A driveway or a legal spot on a numbered street means the van sits where we need it and equipment goes in once. That is why whole house visits are cheaper here in practice than the same piece count spread over an apartment building.

The basement is the part worth planning. Finished basements sit below grade, so they run cooler and damper than the floors above, and a sofa down there never dries on its own the way one in a sunny front room does. We bring air movers for that floor specifically and leave them running after the cleaning is finished.

Shore Road is the exception to all of it. Those are doorman co-op buildings with a service entrance, a certificate of insurance request and an elevator to book, exactly like Manhattan. Send the building name when you call and the paperwork is handled before we arrive.

Around 86th Street and Third Avenue the houses are tighter together and the yards smaller, but the pattern holds. Formal room, working room, and the working room is the job.

Can a basement sofa be cleaned without the damp smell returning?

Yes, but only if the drying is done properly rather than the cleaning done lightly. Below grade rooms hold humidity, so a piece that feels dry to the touch can still be damp in the foam, and that is what smells two weeks later. We put less water in and force the air through for longer.

We work south Brooklyn and the brownstone belt. Start at the Brooklyn service area, or go straight to a neighbour:

Questions

Questions From Bay Ridge Customers

Do you charge extra to come out to Bay Ridge?

No. There is no travel surcharge anywhere in the five boroughs, and a house with a driveway is one of the easier jobs we do. The same sectional costs the same here as it does in Park Slope or Tribeca.

Can you clean a sectional in a finished basement?

Yes, and it is the most common booking here. The thing to plan for is drying rather than cleaning. Below grade rooms stay damp, so we use a lower moisture pass and leave air movers running on that floor rather than calling it finished when it stops looking wet.

Can you do two sofas, the stairs and the bedrooms in one visit?

That is the usual Bay Ridge job. Setup and breakdown is most of the labour on any appointment, so four or five pieces in one morning costs far less than booking them separately. Give us the full list on the phone and it comes back as one figure.

My building on Shore Road wants insurance paperwork. Can you provide it?

Yes, free. Give us the building name and the managing agent exactly as they write them and we issue a certificate of insurance naming them before the appointment. The Shore Road co-ops ask for it the same way Manhattan buildings do.

Does a sunroom or enclosed porch sofa need anything different?

It needs the dye checked first. A porch gets direct sun most of the day and faded fiber behaves differently under solution than the unfaded fabric beside it. We test a hidden panel and work in sections so nothing shifts unevenly.
